Prince Poly Spin 3D 16L Green Clear Tennis Strings

INTRODUCTION: Prince Poly Spin 3D 16L Strings combine a single core with three strategically placed high density polyester streams that align to create a new three dimensional shape. I play tested the strings strung at 62lbs in a Prince O3 Speedport Tour with string hole inserts.

PLAYABILITY: I found thatPrince Poly Spin 3D 16L Strings definitely live up to their name. They are one of the best polyesters on the market. They get really good bite on the ball, resulting in a very satisfying amount of spin. And being a reasonably comfortable string for a poly, they also offer a good amount of feel and control. It wasn't long before I found myself wishing I'd strung them even more tightly. So I did! After restringing at 64, I found that I could get even more spin and control. And the reason I could do this is because the strings are softer than some of the more unforgiving polys that are out there.

Not only are the strings ideal for generating topspin, they are also excellent for the whole range of ground strokes. Flat forehands, slice backhands and touch shots are no problem at all with this very versatile string. The ball behaves exactly as the racquet tells it to. And Poly Spin 3D also gives really good feedback to the hand and arm.

As for durability, I broke it after about one hour of play; however, this doesn't mean its durability is poor. One hour's use for a poly is about average for me (synthetic gut lasts me about 20 minutes), with anything over 1 1/2 hours being very unusual. As for tension loss, because of its average durability, the string will most likely break before tension loss becomes an issue. One other thing that I would also like to mention is that there is a fair amount of string movement so I found myself frequently re-adjusting the mains.

Although I didn't test the string in a hybrid set-up, I think it would work exceptionally well with Prince Premier LT, Babolat Addiction or Babolat XCel.

The string comes in two colors, green and black. As of May 2010, only the black is available in a reel.
